Brooke Dobni, PhD is pleased to announce that he and the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan, have launched The Global State of Innovation Survey. The survey is designed to assess the differences, strengths and weaknesses of cultures of innovation and innovation practices from countries around the world. It will also uncover the contemporary practices of innovation and the areas in which organizations are succeeding and struggling.

Dr. Dobni expects to collect input from over 900 executives and members of management from Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He expects to complete collecting input from respondents by the week of January 22nd and to have its summary report ready in March.

Dr. Dobni will be presenting his findings on how companies innovate and thrive, including a summary of his preliminary findings from The Global State of Innovation Survey, at ISPIM’s Innovation Forum in Toronto, on March 19th, 2017.

This survey has been approved by the Edwards School of Business and the Research Ethics Committee at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Canada. The Survey is being collected by the Social Sciences Research Lab at the University of Saskatchewan.

The Global State of Innovation Survey is a continuation of the thought-leading research on innovation conducted by Dr. C. Brooke Dobni. In 2013, with Dr. W. Thomas Nelson Jr., he published Innovation Nation? Innovation Health Inside the Fortune 1000, a scientifically rigorous survey of 1,127 executives and senior managers.

At the time, it was the largest study of innovation in the Fortune 1000 companies. It offered several new insights on how to improve innovation. Companies committed to improving innovation need to explicitly articulate an innovation strategy, investment in organizational learning as well as technology, inspire ideation, build collaboration, manage knowledge, and quickly move the best ideas forward to commercialize them. Through his research and consulting, he has also uncovered the six traits of highly innovative companies.

In addition to Innovation Nation? Dr. Dobni has published over 20 leading-edge articles and research papers on strategy and innovation in professional journals.

Dr. Dobni is the founder of InnovationOne, an innovation assessment and consulting firm which partners with leadership teams to build innovation capability and develop dynamic cultures of innovation.  Based on Dr. Dobni’s research, InnovationOne has the most robust, scientifically developed, quantitative assessment to score, benchmark and ignite an organization’s innovation.
